Literature Text

Midnight marches across a cloudless sky
Moonlight dances on the summer skyline,

As the night slows, hold me close
Those crowds of pretty faces blur like city lights
And you are the only one who gleams in my eyes

We could be together for all our lives
We could peddle smiles and sunshine
We could happy, as long we're not alone

But as the sun sinks down below
I turn to stone

Midnight sighs across a moonless sky
We hum low in the jungle of our throat
A wingless bird, a silent, piercing cry
The sharp edges of summer starlight ache
The sun begins to rise, a little late

Pitch-black blanket of restless hands
Sings to any heart who'll understand
And as the moon spills into night
It's the cream in your coffee, everything stirs to life

As the night slows, hold me close
No more promises, no more cries
No more nights alone, wondering why
Close your eyes, as the world spins by
I'll be there with you, tonight

I won't leave you among the armies of trees
I won't leave you swollen against the skin of the sun
Even if you have my one and only heart
We'll take the sun, we'll take the stars,
We'll wear each others' hearts on our arms

So don't leave me alone, don't turn me to stone
As the night goes, pull me in close
Please just hold me tight
Because you could make me whole tonight.
You could leave, you could take a bus,
A train, a plane
But you cannot run the pain

Your heart is heavy
Your feet ache
And every night we lie awake
Wondering if giving up was our biggest mistake.

"We'll wear our each others' hearts on our arms" ... did you mean 'wear out each others' hearts' because if so this is my favorite line. If not it'll be "Your heart is heavy
Your feet ache
And every night we lie awake
Wondering if giving up was our biggest mistake."

Your peices never fail to move me, and this one is no different. I thought, in the begining, that it would make me sad, but it put me out in a limbo state instead.
